Registered dietitian. Qualified personal fitness trainer. Stubborn, passionate believer in not making it complicated.
I qualified as a dietitian in 2003 and registered as a personal trainer a few years after. In-between I was a legislative author at the National Department of Health and advisor to the food industry at the Consumer Goods Council of South Africa (CGCSA).
I've spent the better part of two decades helping people figure out how to eat, drink and move in a way that fits their life, not someone else's idea of what their life should look like.
I'm based at Virgin Active Foreshore in Cape Town, where I see private face-to-face and online clients for both nutrition consultations and personal training. I also speak at corporate events, work with schools, universities, and have been lucky enough to share what I know on Espresso (SABC 3), Heart FM, Cape Talk, seminars, conferences and a few magazines and newspapers along the way; to name a few.
Many of my clients are individuals who are tired of starting over every January. They want something fresh that works during the messy bits: the school holidays, year-end functions, the months where life is on fire, motivation is low and the gym is the last thing on the list.
I'm a registered member of the HPCSA, REPSSA, BHF PCNS, and ADSA, which means I'm accountable to various proper professional bodies and I keep my training up to date. I take that part of the job very seriously.
